Rich and Luke at his first Tigers gameOkay......I am embarrassed to say I have failed miserably at keeping up with my New Year's Resolution of keeping my blog current and up-to-date. My hope was that this blog would be a way of capturing the highlights of the year to then be later transferred to a hard copy book for memory-keeping. I have a lot of catching up to do!!!
Let's start with the girls..... My how 4 months can make such a difference in the making of "Big Girls"!! We have officially been done with cribs for about 3 or 4 months, and boy does that make life a whole lot more interesting! No longer do we hear, "Giddy up" through a closed door while they rode the side rails of their cribs. It's now, "Stay in bed" or "No jump on bed". These are 3 of the most active and rambunctious children we have had yet! We are getting to the point (if not past it), where they just do not fit in the stroller anymore. So you will often see us walking down the street, or to the bus stop with our "leashes" as we so affectionately call them! It keeps them close and I don't have to worry that they will be running in 3 different directions at once (which they would certainly try!). They love these backpacks, and even ask for them when we go for walks! Let's hope that continues! You will catch them at any moment singing at the tops of their lungs, and often we are entertained with a chorus of 3 late into the evening or early morning. Emma and Luke think it's funny to teach them silly phrases. So the girls know to get a laugh out of us - they just throw us a "Peace out" or 'sup" with the crossed arms and a smile and they have us rolling!
Luke and Emma had a great year at school in kindergarten and 3rd grade. Seems like they are growing up over night! Rich surprised Luke with a trip to Detroit for his first Tigers game! Hopefully it's just the first of many to come! Emma is planning on going to Camp Geneva this summer for her first sleepover camp experience. They are looking forward to a great summer!
