Three Months Old

So I'm a little late with my post this week - time has gotten the best of me. Our babies have made it to the 3 month mark! It's hard to believe. They are now consistently sleeping around 6-7 hours at night, but still want to eat every three hours during the day. I'll take what I can get! Ava goes this Thursday for a swallow evaluation for her lengthy feeding issues. Of course now that she's going - she seems like she's starting to get better. Isn't that always the case.

I was able to enjoy a night out this week with 3 other triplet moms, thanks to my friend Stacey for setting it up! It was so nice to be able to hear some stories and encouragement from some wonderful women who have been there before me! I was also able to take Luke on a field trip with his class to the Butterfly Garden. So glad I am able to walk like a normal person again! Our neighborhood had an Easter Egg hunt on Saturday which was postponed due to the snow last week. The kids (and us) enjoyed the time out together as a family - not to mention the delicious chocolate! My parents and the other volunteers have been AWESOME to allow us these luxuries! Another luxury.............having a fabulous husband who can manage to feed 3 babies in the middle of the night WITHOUT my knowledge...TWICE! I am a very lucky lady! Here's the latest:

Happy Easter!

We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter Sunday today! We were fortunate enough to be able to go to church together as a family to worship this morning - thanks to my very wonderful parents who stayed home with the girls. Thanks for being willing to give up your Easter Sunday for us, Mom and Dad! You are the best! We are so blessed that we serve a risen God who sacrificed His life for our sins. We had an awesome video this morning at church which described Jesus in a million different ways - and then said "he's indescribable" - Do you know him? It was so touching to me as I reflected on the past year of our family's life. He is the Strength for the weak, the Hope for the Weary. We have witnessed his unfailing love and grace and provision for our family in such real and tangible ways. He is undoubtedly ALIVE! Do you know Him?

Even though the girls didn't get to go to church with us this morning - we just had to dress them up in their cute matching dresses! I remember Emma's first Easter picture was sitting on a blanket in the bluebonnets on a warm sunny Texas day. This Easter we could've set the girls in a snowbank out front! Brrrrr! Luke and Emma were excited to hunt for eggs with their cousins - and we even got Luke to wear some handsome pants that don't show his ankles!! There IS hope!

My Sister's Visit

I am so sad to see this week come to an end. Having my big sister Kari here this week has been so much fun! The kids were completely spoiled by all her love and attention! She will be so missed - I wish she weren't so far away. Kari took Emma and Luke to Build-a-Bear to get something to remember her by. They had a blast picking out outfits and dressing them. The babies decided to impress Aunt Kari with 2 nights of 6 and 7 hours of sleep at a time! Way to go girls!

My sister had the "pleasure" of taking the girls to their 2 month check-up with me! What an experience that was! Three screaming babies and only 2 sets of arms to hold. It breaks a mama's heart! The girl's are weighing : Addison - 11lb. 5 oz., Ava - 9 lb. 13oz., Elaina - 11 lb. 3 oz. We couldn't believe that Addison and Elaina were only 2 oz. apart! Addison is an apple and Elaina's the banana! Ava is the s-l-o-w eater, and wasn't gaining as fast as her sisters - so we now get to concentrate her formula so she gets more calories in the same amount of fluid. So far it seems to be helping!

Friday night Emma got to have her first sleepover with her friend, so Rich decided he would take Luke out for a "guys night". Wouldn't you know they ended up at the Golf Store, and Lowe's - and finished the night off with some ice cream! He's teaching him early! I'm glad they got a chance to have some time together while my sister and I watched the babies! I have been able to enjoy a few short naps this week while my family was here - what a treat!

Thanks for all the fun, love, and affection this week, Aunt Kari! We love you and will miss you!

She's Here!

Hallelujah! My mom is finally here! She and my dad came waltzing into our living room at around 5pm Monday evening. I now truly understand the feeling of "I want my mommy!". She has spent the past week being immersed in babycare! She and Ava have developed a special bond, in that she (grandma) is the only person who can successfully feed her in less than an hour! Boy are Rich and I glad she came to the rescue!

Since leaving Texas, mom has brought the sunshine with her - and left the snow in her trail. Texas has had snow and we have had some beautiful sunny days. Who would've known? The kids are loving having Grandma and grandpa around now. We even got a special visit from Rich's parents who had come back in town for a funeral this week.

My sister is coming in today from Houston to stay for the week. We are thrilled to have her here. Hopefully the babies won't get too spoiled having an extra person around all week! I know I will!

We're Two Months Old

"Little Red Riding Hoods"
Addison, Ava, Elaina

I can hardly believe how fast these past two months have flown by! Thank you to everyone who has made it possible with help, meals, errands, and prayers. The girls are thriving at 9 and 10 lbs already! We are starting to round the corner with 5 hours of sleep at night - just a little more would be awesome! I know it's coming!
